Belt Exams
Testing Rules
Belt Exams are important and serious events, and should be treated as such. To encourage
a student's best performance, the following rules are in place:
- Be on time! You need to be at the testing location at the time designated by your instructor.
This will give you ample time fill out your test form, warm up and stretch,
and practice your material, while keeping a calm and steady pace.
- White uniforms must be worn. Only white or black T-Shirts may be worn under the uniform.
Note: Effective January 2007, Brown Belts and higher will not be permitted to wear lightweight uniforms on the test. Middleweight or heavyweight will be required.
- Uniforms must be clean and neat. The student's general appearance must likewise be clean and tidy.
- Students who come to assist in the test, but are not testing, may wear black
at the instructor's discretion, if their rank allows.
- Be sure to bring your sparring gear if testing for Green Belt or above.
- All dues and fees to the karate school must be up to date in order to test.
- A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the test form for all students under 18.
Students will receive their test results at their next regularly scheduled class time.
