Summary: Da-Ri ("bridge") expands the student’s coordination and footwork. It teaches the student to maximize punching power by turning the body. It serves as a transition from the upright, informal stances and simple footwork of Kit-Cho to the deeper formal stance and advanced footwork of the traditional katas, such as Chon-Ji.
  1. Fold the left hand low, the right hand high. Pivot ¼ turn to the left into a Left Back Stance. Perform a Left-Hand Scoop Block. Kihap.
  2. Extend the left arm. Step forwards with the right foot into a Right Back Stance while peforming a Right-Hand Side Punch.
  3. Fold the right hand low, the left hand high. Stepping with the right foot and pivoting on the left, turn ½ turn towards the right into a Right Back Stance. Perform a Right-Hand Scoop Block.
  4. Extend the right arm. Step forwards with the left foot into a Left Back Stance while peforming a Left-Hand Side Punch.
  5. Fold the left hand low, the right hand high. Pivot ¼ turn to the left into a Left Back Stance. Perform a Left-Hand Scoop Block.
  6. Extend the left arm. Step forwards with the right foot into a Right Back Stance while peforming a Right-Hand Side Punch.
  7. Fold the right hand low, the left hand high. Stepping with the right foot and pivoting on the left, turn ½ turn towards the right into a Right Back Stance. Perform a Right-Hand Scoop Block.
  8. Extend the right arm. Step forwards with the left foot into a Left Back Stance while peforming a Left-Hand Side Punch. Kihap.
  9. Pivoting on both feet without stepping, pivot ½ turn the right into a Right Back Stance. Perform a Right-Hand Knife Hand Block.
  10. Keeping the hands in the current Knife Hand Block position, perform a Defensive Front Kick with the right leg.
  11. Extend the right arm and close the hands into fists. Step forwards with the left foot into a Left Back Stance while peforming a Left-Hand Side Punch.
  12. Fold both hands back for a Knife Hand Block. Stepping with the left foot and pivoting on the right, turn ¼ turn towards the left into a Left Back Stance. Perform a Left-Hand Knife Hand Block.
  13. Keeping the hands in the current Knife Hand Block position, perform a Defensive Front Kick with the left leg.
  14. Extend the left arm and close the hands into fists. Step forwards with the right foot into a Right Back Stance while peforming a Right-Hand Side Punch.
  15. Fold both hands back for a Knife Hand Block. Stepping with the right foot and pivoting on the left, turn ½ turn towards the right into a Right Back Stance. Perform a Right-Hand Knife Hand Block.
  16. Keeping the hands in the current Knife Hand Block position, perform a Defensive Front Kick with the right leg.
  17. Extend the right arm and close the hands into fists. Step forwards with the left foot into a Left Back Stance while peforming a Left-Hand Side Punch.
  18. Fold the left hand high and the right hand low. Stepping with the left foot and pivoting on the right, turn ¼ turn towards the left into a Left Back Stance. Perform a Left-Hand Low Block.
  19. Fold the right hand high and the left hand low. Step forwards with the right foot into a Right Back Stance. Perform a Right-Hand Low Block.
  20. Extend the right arm. Step forwards with the left foot into a Left Back Stance while peforming a Left-Hand Side Punch.
  21. Fold the left hand high and the right hand low. Step backwards with the left foot into a Right Back Stance. Perform a Right-Hand Scoop Block.
  22. Fold the right hand high and the left hand low. Step backwards with the right foot into a Left Back Stance. Perform a Left-Hand Scoop Block.
  23. Extend the left arm. Step backwards with the left foot into a Right Back Stance while peforming a Right-Hand Side Punch. Kihap.
