Kit-Cho(Keet Cho)

Summary: Kit-Cho ("foundation") is the White Belt's basic introduction to kata. It teaches the basic transitions, footwork, and coordination that will serve as the foundation for all other katas.
  1. Pivot ¼ turn to the left into a Left Fighting Stance. Kihap.
  2. Right hand Reverse Punch (all Reverse Punches are shoulder-level).
  3. Keeping the feet where they are, pivot ½ turn towards the right into a Right Fighting Stance.
  4. Left hand Reverse Punch.
  5. Step with the left foot as you turn ¼ turn to the left into a Left Fighting Stance.
  6. Right hand Reverse Punch.
  7. Keeping the feet where they are, pivot ½ turn towards the right into a Right Fighting Stance.
  8. Left hand Reverse Punch. Kihap.
  9. Step with the left foot as you turn ¼ turn to the left into a Left Fighting Stance.
  10. Defensive Front Kick with the left leg.
  11. Right hand Reverse Punch.
  12. Keeping the feet where they are, pivot ½ turn towards the right into a Right Fighting Stance.
  13. Defensive Front Kick with the right leg.
  14. Left hand Reverse Punch.
  15. Step with the left foot as you turn ¼ turn to the left into a Left Fighting Stance.
  16. Defensive Front Kick with the left leg.
  17. Right hand Reverse Punch.
  18. Keeping the feet where they are, pivot ½ turn towards the right into a Right Fighting Stance.
  19. Slide-up Front Kick with the right leg.
  20. Left hand Reverse Punch.
  21. Keeping the feet where they are, pivot ½ turn towards the left into a Left Fighting Stance.
  22. Slide-up Front Kick with the left leg.
  23. Right hand Reverse Punch.
  24. Keeping the feet where they are, pivot ½ turn towards the right into a Right Fighting Stance. Kihap.
